Stepping onto the Miss Universe Stage was truly beyond anything I could have dreamed of. The athletes were incredible, it was the toughest competition so far this year. Twenty five athletes stood alongside me in what was the biggest class of the show. And true to form I was once again the oldest athlete.
My team pulled out all the stops to get me in the best condition of my life. I was heavier and leaner than my previous two competitions – we'd stepped outside all of our comfort zones with the nutrition and the training regime broke some very long standing rules.
All of these new techniques worked a treat and I was elated with the package that I took on stage. In particular, Coco's support was my driving force to getting a trophy. He has been continuously by my side throughout all of this and when I didn't get placed my sadness was simply because I thought I had let him down. This of course was not the case and as a team we celebrate together and commiserate together.
As always, we debriefed and discussed our options moving forward and as the title of this post suggests, it's been a time to reflect The conclusions? Get on with it – focus, analyse, develop and execute. Over the next week or so I will outline my plans for the remainder of the season
I do this crazy sport today, quite simply because I can. And whilst I can, I'm going to continue for as long as I can. In the meantime have a look at some of the shots from the Miss Universe stage.
