Upened to me only last week. A photoshoot had been arranged so off I went to Studio 1 in Aldershot, a really great gym for the photoshoot location and where I met with photographer Mak Freeman. For me though, this is totally not my bag, my comfort zone 'collapsed' and I immediately started to feel uncomfortable and self-conscious.
So there I was, in this gym with tons of free weights and yes, telling me to lift heavy weights is all very much my scene – but doing it in front of a camera is definitely not. And as my nerves calmed it was fun having a laugh about it with the other girls in the gym, who were amazing. Yes I know I had to step outside my comfort zone for the day, but I'm glad that I did. Please have a look at the photos and perhaps drop me a message to let me know what you think.
The moral of this blog is that sometimes you have to step outside your comfort zone for the magic to happen. The magic for me was the humble feeling of being so lucky to be able to do this. It drives me to enjoy every day, every workout and every opportunity that comes along. But also, importantly, not to forget my friends who are less fortunate. So I am able to give something back too, like my Justgiving page for Anita's Garden that inspires me on a daily basis. To keep stepping outside my comfort zone.
And for as long as I can, I will continue to do so.
Love Pearly xx
